The humidity and temperature is frightening. I'd rather not venture outside. It's like a indoors swimming pool with thermal waters kind of atmosphere. The only thing that helped was that Poland had the same kind of summer. At least here I have A/C so I don't suffer as much. But now the cooling comes to Poland and mine probably won't be here before September. So I sit at home, do the data analysis and amuse myself while the results are calculated.
The Westboro Baptist Church, who seems to be the group of crazies who hate on everything in hope to get a reaction they can sue you for, decidet to protest San Diego Comic Con. Their coming to the largest geek convention could have had only one result - merciless mocking. I'm almost glad they did as the counter protest was awesome.
My favourites are "Is this thing on?", "The Dark Knight is By My Side", "Superman Died for Our Sins","Odin Is God, Read The Mighty Thor #5" and of course Bender with "Kill All Humans" sign.
On the other side of US a man robs a bank in a Darth Vader costume. Tall guy in black helmet and a cape. I'd understand if nobody had noticed in San Diego but on Long Island? And what with this trend of criminals dressing as sf icons?
And last the best news of the day - Steven Erikson finished The Crippled God. The Malazan Books of the Fallen series is done. Steven Erikson is a writing machine. He got a book a size that can be used to kill someone almost every year for the last decade. Even though it's still about half a year before it's out it feels like an end of an era. On one hand I can't wait on the other I'm sad that it's ending. Well, I'll still have ICE's book for few years.
