ellestra: (sunrise)
In past few days we had this kind of cold weather that is sunny but feels colder then it actually is. Back home this was the kind of weather that came from East, from Russian plains. The continental weather with crispy cold air and sunny, distant skies with just few white clouds. Every time I looked up through bare branches or close my eyes and just smelled the air I thought there should be snow on the ground. I knew it was too warm. It was still way above freezing but the air smelled like it was below 0 and it felt that way too. It just had this kind of feel and smell and look I associate with -8C and thin, dry snow. Or at least one frozen to branches.

This made me feel weird. This difference between reality and what I felt it should be like.

No more.

Today started with clouds which got more and more dense and then it started to snow. It's still above 0C so it's that wet snow that sticks to everything and makes it look like a winter wonderland. It will most likely thaw soon but it's so pretty now.

I went to a grocery store to grab some things just after it started snowing and somehow all the Christmas decorations seemed appropriate and the holiday themed music no longer annoying. Just because it snowed outside. I know it won't last but falling snow always fills me with glee. Seasons are right once more.
