Quick thoughts on new TV offerings
Feb. 7th, 2012 11:40 pmI watched the two first episodes of The River but I'm not sure I will continue to do that. After I read how much folks on io9 loved it I expected something more interesting. maybe it's just me. I'm not much into horror and even less into found footage. I don't really get scared by bunch of confused people turning around and screaming at something we can't really see. And due the "realistic" camera work there's not much too see. I know I'm supposed to fill the gaps with more scary imaginary horror but all I do is think about being sweaty, bug-bitten and uncomfortable. You know all the fun parts of walking around a jungle.
I liked Smash. I watched it on hulu on Sunday because there was nothing on TV. It's nice. It's not anything special but it has Jack Davenport (who I adore since Ultraviolet and watched Flash Forward for much longer then I should), Angelica Huston (who is always awesome) and pretty good singing. I'm also happy that Brit actors get to keep their accents. The only thing I mind it's just the main heroine story is so cliche I root for her rival just to be contrary.
I still haven't touched Touch. The whole premise seems so uninteresting. And all that 'autism is superpowers' trend just makes me roll my eyes.
Is Awake still going to happen?
