Connected to important events
Jan. 21st, 2013 11:45 pmI watched bits of the inauguration live on TV. Mostly because it reminded me of the important thing that happened the last time - my PhD thesis defence. It kind of makes me invested in foreign politics. Not enough however to check why last one was on Tuesday.
Jim Hines cover project has made it to BBC. Although I feel sad they picked one of least challenging poses. Most of the challenges are posted and some truly twisted. And then are of course specials involving other people like recent duplicate the cover of Young Flandry. Just look at all those SFF authors. I know why Mary Robinette Kowal is staring at space. I'd rather not know what is happening around me too. She came to the convention dressed normally and then it turned out the guys decided to dress for pool party. In Michigan. In winter. Anyway Jim Hines managed to get over $15K and that means more attractions are coming. Including a calendar with poses for next year. I'm glad I took part in making it happen. It is awesome in so many ways.
The RED 2 trailer is out and it has Helen Mirren being a cleaner. The previous one was fun and it came out on my birthday so there are some nice memories associated (Hellen Mirren and guns). I just rewatched the first one and it was still fun and everyone is back (except Karl Urban but that's OK) so I'm actually waiting for this one.
