The lives they could've had
Apr. 22nd, 2015 11:01 pmAgents of SHIELD have been so good this season and they keep getting better.
All the separate storylines are slowly coming together again. Sky and Inhumans. Coulson team. The other SHIELD. Even Ward and Agent 33.
I loved the Skye and Cal's day together. Skye learning her name and kind of liking it was nice. Daisy Johnson, Agent of SHIELD. And I said before - Skye knows Cal is insane and she doesn’t want him to hurt anyone else because of her but it also hard not to feel bad about the man who got destroyed by the search for her and feel sad about the life they could’ve had. She’s still the person who shoot Ward - the proclamations of love are way less important to her than actions and she will not become a pacifier for a madman - but she spent most of her life looking for her parents and hoping that they are looking for her and Cal did. He never stopped. So in spite herself she feels bad for him when Jiaying kicks him out without even telling him and she enjoys their walk together. Even though her main concern is the safety of people in Milwaukee when Cal learns she’s been taken from him again she likes learning about a man he was. She even wants to visit him. Not something I expected to see after how they met. It was surprisingly touching.
Ward is still creepy but also kind of cute with Kira. In the Natural Born Killers - killing and torturing the people along the way - way (but the Pulp Fiction scene in the diner was pretty fun). She saved him and he has a thing for people who do that and now he tries to to help her get her face and her life back. Of course he's still Ward and she's still brainwashed so they go murdering people along the way. The guy who fixed the mask, the soldiers in Talbot's base when they were kidnapping Bakshi, who knows who else on their way there. I like that they don't make him into a nice person. He's kind of fun this way when he can be this kind of Tarantino character - evil but fun to watch. I just don't want him to be redeemed and back on the team and with Skye because - stalking and kidnapping is not a relationship. I'm more OK with Kara because she picked him. And even I was touched when Ward contacted Kara's mother for a photo of her so she could have her own face back.
I'm afraid that this cooperation with Coulson would be a way for him back on the team and I don't want that. He tried to kill most of them and almost succeeded. The look of betrayal on Skye's face when she sees Coulson with Ward was perfect.
I’m not sure Bakshi is resistant or Ward ordered him to do it. I think he might’ve just shaken of the conditioning for long enough to try to make run for it. We had several people do that including Kira if someone doesn’t keep saying the trigger phrase to them.
I think that List has been unsuccessful so far because he is capturing Inhumans before the Mist (like Ethan) and cannot figure out a way to activate their powers. So they are tracking Gordon in hopes of finding someone who already has powers and they finally captured one.
The Mike/Lincoln fight scene was cool and I hope we'll see them team up next to escape Hydra. It was such a comic book thing - two heroes fight because they mistake each other for a foe but then bond and work together. I hope we'll see Deathlock and Sparkplug team-up.
All of this List business is pretty obviously leading up to Age of Ultron. It premieres in some of places today so I’m sure someone will start listing the connections for this and the next episode and then we can all see the epilogue in last 3 episodes of the season.
So Gordon and Jiaying know Raina is clairvoyant but did they tell her about it?
