Epic Battle

There's a fanfiction contest (or maybe more like RPF) that not only get you a set of  books from Subterranean Press but also will get you published along a lot of professional sf authors. All you have to do is to write a story about this picture  depicting the epic battle between orcfied John Scalzi and Wil Wheaton on unicorn-pegaz-kitty (to make it harder - no slash, sorry):


Frankly I don't care about stories. The awesomness of this picture is enough. It even has vulcanoes. But all this is for a good cause so if you are good at it...

Happy Children's Day

Today is International Children's Day. Back in Poland there's no lessons in schools today and on last weekends there were a lot of festivities for kids everywhere. My nephew was dead tired after all that celebrating, I'm told, and it's not an easy feat to tire him.

I always loved this holiday. The weather was usually nice, the schoolyear was ending and you got presents. And since we are all someone's children all are life
