ellestraTad William's future multiplayer virtual game series of books Otherland is getting turned into a game. And this is how we end up in matrioshka realities with no way of knowing what is real.
I do understand the appeal as these are SF books that take place mostly in fantasy setting as heroes move from one virtual world to another. And as the worlds are virtual there is no pesky problem of physics or biology to stop you making what you want. And have fun hopping from one world to the next.
