Write Like the Wind George R. R. Martin (or at least like Steven Erikson) or don't so there be someone elected in a contest to finish your series after you die and endless complains. Anyway it certainly is a source of frustration that's usually just whining but sometimes results in something actually fun:

"Six page descriptions of every last meal" indeed. That's why I always wished for a Reader's Digest version. However I appreciate how they actually acknowledge both sides of this argument with nods to [livejournal.com profile] grrm is not your bitch stance.

Every time I'm reminded of Gaiman's 'GRRM defence', I cringe. The word choice was so annoying, just idek.

It was not a best choice of words, especially since it seems to stuck. However, I do something I tend to do with phrases I dislike, I translate it literally to Polish. As you know, the word is much more connected to its original meaning in Polish. So then I enjoy mental image of GRRM (and all the other authors) as panting (female) dogs.

And now I wonder if there is fic for this :P
